Buffalo herd in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda
Uganda

Queen Elizabeth & Ishasha

Overview

Queen Elizabeth spans crater lakes, savannah and the Kazinga Channel, where boat cruises pass hippo pods and buffalo herds at close range. The park holds over 600 bird species, more than almost any protected area in Africa. In the remote Ishasha sector you search the fig trees for the tree-climbing lions found in only a handful of places worldwide. Game drives cover the Kasenyi plains for lion, elephant and Uganda kob.
