White sand and turquoise Indian Ocean water at Diani Beach, Kenya
Kenya

Diani Beach

Overview

White sand, warm Indian Ocean water and a coral reef a short swim offshore make Diani the natural end to a Kenyan safari. The beach runs for seventeen kilometres south of Mombasa, backed by palms and casuarina. Dhow trips, kite surfing, diving on the reef and the colobus monkeys in the coastal forest fill the days. Flights from the Mara reach Ukunda airstrip in under two hours.
