Lake Nakuru

Overview

A compact Rift Valley park built around an alkaline lake, Nakuru is one of the best places in Kenya to see both black and white rhino in a single morning. Flamingo numbers rise and fall with water levels, and the lakeshore also holds Rothschild's giraffe, waterbuck and tree-climbing lion. Baboon Cliff looks out over the whole basin. Its small size makes it an easy, high-yield stop between Nairobi and the Mara.
