The Nile forces itself through a seven-metre gorge and drops in a thunderous plume, giving Uganda's largest park its name. A launch cruise to the base of the falls passes crocodiles, hippos and elephants drinking at the bank. North of the river, open savannah carries giraffe, lion and buffalo across grassland that stretches to the horizon. You can hike to the top of the falls, and add rhino tracking on foot at Ziwa en route.
